[...] Don’t think too much about what you like. Instead, find out what the linking audience, or the Linkerati, likes. Figure out what kind of content they would link to. Go to their sites and examine at their outbound links. Try to understand why they link to certain pages and sites. Take your time. You want to have a really good idea of what’s considered linkworthy in your niche. Once you have a good idea, write some linkworthy content and then promote it to the Linkerati in a non-spammy way. [...]

I think that the internet is a great source to advertise and promote different things. The internet is such an enormous base for any business type and gives you alot of advantages. It allows people to view your products or promotions any time of the day and some companies offer 24 hour customer service assistance and feedback, which can be helpful in many ways. I agree with most people when they say that there is a difference in advertising to promote and advertising that gets the public and potential customers annoyed.

Blogging is the best promotion tool so far because although it is unobtrusive, its reach is immense. By the time people come to your blog, consciously or unconsciously they are already interested in reading your stuff. After that it's up to you to keep them engaged and interested.

[...] A blog is not just to record your random thoughts and share them with the world, they are a great PR and marketing tool too. In fact many organizations and businesses are already using blogs to increase traffic and promote their offerings. When you use your blog to promote your business and do business marketing you don’t have to spam people by sending unsolicited emails. People themselves come to your blog to read it if your content is interesting enough and if the targeting is right. Make sure you don’t interminably harp about how magnificent your products and services are and what a great thing you offer to the world. Instead, develop a relationship with your readers, strike up a conversation with them and earn their trust. It takes time, but it’s worth it. Here’s a blog post that tells you How To Do Marketing Without Spamming (Using Your Blog). [...]
