Way to go. Is there a revolution brewing up against Google nowadays? Or is Father Time has just picked up the pace and Google is having a hard time keeping up?

You're absolutely spot on with this, Ryan. PageRank is no longer what Big G would like us to believe it is.

Rather than ranking a site based on it's usefulness or it's trust, PageRank has become a visible sign of Google compliance. The bigger the PageRank, the more subservient the site.

Excellent - it'll be interesting to see how many other web services stop doing calculations with PR. I still think this could be solved if Google simply stopped making it publicly available though.
