901am was created by new media maven David Krug with the aim of "delivering new media news every morning," (hence "9:01 a.m."). 901am originally started as an offshoot of the Blog Herald, expanding to other new media realms not covered by blogging news, including social networking, social bookmarking, viral marketing, multimedia, and the like. The site is positioned in compliment with the Blog Herald for a fuller coverage of the new media scene, which extends beyond blogging.
